The Charity Boat Race was created with a simple yet powerful vision — to bring communities together through a joyful family event while supporting meaningful charitable causes in the UK and around the world. It is a celebration of unity, generosity, and the belief that when communities come together with purpose, they can create lasting change.

This initiative was deeply inspired by the late Sheikh Fahimul Anam, whose dedication to charitable work and education left an indelible mark on the community. As a passionate supporter of humanitarian and educational causes through Gift Foundation, he believed strongly that empowering the community through education was one of the most meaningful ways to transform the future.

His vision, generosity, and tireless motivation gave birth to a consortium formed by three community-driven organisations: Gift Foundation, Sisters Forum, and Newham Youth Link. Together, these organisations work hand in hand to bring families, volunteers, and supporters together for a cause that changes lives.

The Charity Boat Race is therefore more than just a day of fun and friendly competition. It is a platform that allows our community to come together to support causes that matter.
